I looked at my 1000+ backed up Google feed reader and clicked on the first blog in it, A Life in Transition and began to read Jamie’s post about her lack of postings among other things like moving to Paris. That is when it dawned on me, I’ve been lacking in the posting department myself. Getting back into the swing of things after Japan, graduate school was already time consuming as I discovered but now I’m a full time grad student it’s even more so then before. I have pages filled in my moleskine notebook about Japan yet to be written out so that I can share it with you the world.  While I’m not moving to Paris I am going through a few big changes…and it all came to head last night. So what I think I’m trying to say is, that in the mix of this and that… I think I’m getting married!

I know you are saying, “Cornelius, duh you are getting married you just got engaged. That is the logical next step.” This is very true my furless friend, but usually there is some time between the two that allows for planning and the inviting of people type things that normally happen at weddings. However, I am about to partake in what is called a ‘shotgun wedding’ …I think. My fiancé and I want to travel after we finish school so we are starting to count our pennies and save. In doing so if we are wed she only has to pay half for school since I work at the university we are attending. Additionally, all of our parents want to be present for this ceremonious event which wouldn’t be a problem if her parents weren’t going back to Peru for 3-4 months at the end of March. I could have it afterwords but my parents aren’t available in June and I can’t take time off from work in July or August because it is my busiest time. Which means we would have to postpone it till September or later which means no discount till the following semester, starting off January 2012….and how the year blows by.

Yeah, you are just a little bit jealous…you can admit it. A small court wedding, then rent a limo and head up to the St. Patty’s day parade in Cleveland, OH.

I really don’t know if this will all happen as planned because this just came to last night but it seems like a possibility and not a half bad one at that. All in all this new year has already been hectic and exciting and we have really just begun and when all else fails there is always and forever will be….the safety dance.

Aww yay! Look at you, all grown up!! I’m super excited for you guys!! And after everything’s settled down, that’s a good time to get back into full time blogging. After all, as much as you try, planning out life just doesn’t always work like we think it will! ♥
