Musicians have never been a stranger to alcohol, and so it is without surprise that they put their talents to good use by giving us drinking songs. I’ve put together just a small list of songs that are about alcohol, be it wine, beer or booze I don’t discriminate. The list has a little bit of every style of music hopefully I’ve listed a few of your favorites, but in case I missed a few I’m always open for suggestions. I’m trying to convince Pandora.com to create a Drinking Songs play list, they have the songs listed below (don’t believe click on one of the links, I dare ya!), so why not make a musical ‘genre’ of drinking songs. You can help support the drunken cause by emailing [email protected] and telling them that you think they need a drinking song play list too. Tell them Cornelius sent ya’ and that we’ll keep flinging until the drinking songs are singing.
If you want to debate who is the original artist of this song or that, take it up with Pandora because that is where I got all of the names and music facts from. You can listen to a sample of each song on their site (as long as you are in the US) sorry travelers and others outside the US but you should be able to youtube search most of these songs.
If you are my friend on facebook you can find me on Pandora and share music.

From Anonymous:
Is it wrong or right that I know a lot of these songs?
Whisky in a jar (#97 here) was also redone by Metallica which is a great version.
From Cornelius Aesop:
I say it is right that you know so many of these songs! And I was a little biased I liked the Dubliners version better, while Metallica can rock out, you can’t head bang and drink my friend and that is the problem.
From Ayngelina:
Best. Post. Ever.
From Cornelius Aesop:
Hehe…. I feel all special now.
From yTravelBlog:
Funny how there are so many Irish tunes in there. Ireland, music and beer just go so well together
From Cornelius Aesop:
Ireland loves its drinking songs, I did try to not over ‘Irish’ the list and even left a few out like Floggy Molly’s – “F*** You I’m Drunk” and Pat McCurdy’s – “Sex and Beer” which are both classics I may add.
