My point exactly, I don't dislike Negra Modelo but I'm not in love with it. The weird part is that most Mexican beers have a German Bier influence or were started from German immigrants yet don't have that good beir flavor. Well Salud and may the tacos not give you runs on this day of celebration.

Yeah, Cinco is really an American holiday but their mothers day which is on a different day than in the US is a big holiday. I mean who doesn't want to celebrate their mama? As for the Negra Modelo yeah I can see it being the one rare alternative to light beers. Just stay away from the light tequila.

I don't mind Negra Modelo – it's an easy-drinking Mexican beer (aren't they all) with a darker twist.

Oh also I forgot to mentioned that while I don't like “dark” beer, I quite like Modelo Negro, which is a nice substitute once you become tired of all the Sol.

Okay update on Cinco de Mayo, which is not completely accurate as I have only 5 days of Spanish lessons in me. The girl at my hostel tells me that Cinco de Mayo is not celebrated; however Dia de la Madre (Mother's Day) is a very big holiday here and there will be lots of festivities.
